Overview

A magazine all about how to use plants as decor, Tendril Magazine breathes life into interiors, seamlessly blending nature and design. Catering to both plant aficionados and interior design enthusiasts alike, Tendril explores the symbiosis between greenery and living spaces. Tendril features expert advice on plant care, innovative design ideas, and captivating stories of how nature can weave its way into every corner of any space.

As a conceptual student project, the brief was to create and name a magazine covering any topic along with two covers, two feature articles, a quick read article, and a table of contents. As the project progressed, more covers and an additional quick read were created. While developing the concept of the magazine, a moodboard and positioning chart were developed to establish a brand voice and aesthetic.

RESEARCH
Watering the demand.

The concept for Tendril was created in the midst of a global pandemic. When everyone had become all too familiar with the four walls and ceiling they called home, they longed for even the smallest of changes. It was during this time that houseplant purchases skyrocketed. The influx of fauna in people's homes was creating joy, a sense of purpose, and simply something new to do.

POSITIONING
Growing tall in a crowded market.

The market is oversaturated with gardening, architecture and interior design magazines. This creates a sizable hole in the market for Tendril to thrive and foster new ideas.

MOODBOARD
The seedling of a brand.

Tendril Magazine reflects this joy through vibrant colors, soft, romantic imagery, and bold typefaces. Combined with design advice and plant care guidance, Tendril caters to an audience that understands meticulous cultivation and appreciates aesthetics and care.
